Youth, Mental Health and Disability Support Mentor – Caboolture

About the role

Multiple casual positions available

As Youth, Mental Health and Disability Support (YMHADS) Mentor you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing the needs of and providing support to young people referred to the service;

  • Providing mentoring support and serving as a positive role model;

  • Undertaking educational support to assist clients to remain in the school setting; and,

  • Organising activities that offer social and emotional support to clients.

 

Critical to your success in this role will be the proven ability to demonstrate

  • experience in a similar position

  • your ability to work autonomously

  • effective and professional interpersonal and communication skills

 

In addition you will

  • currently hold or be studying towards a relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience

  • maintain a current Australian drivers licence , a positive Working with Children (Blue Card) check as well as a Disability Services prescribed notice (Yellow Card)

You may be required to provide information in relation to pre-existing medical conditions or injuries relevant to this position and submit to a pre-employment medical.
